Meet the team!
We are organic gardeners.
Michele duRivage has taken over Garden Sitters and is excited to welcome Amy Marshall to the team!
Michele is a self-taught, experienced gardener, as well as an educator. She volunteered at the Bylane Bird Friendly Garden at Bedford Audubon for three years, where they started vegetables, herbs and flower seedlings in the greenhouse and planted in the garden. She is an avid learner of natural and herbal medicine.
Pauline Schneider is NYBG certified in Landscape Design, and has been gardening since the age of 13. In 2016 she moved to Belize to run Stardust Sanctuary Farm, she is still available to consult with and now lives in Windham County, Vermont.
What we do:
We will come babysit your garden while you are either traveling, too ill or just too busy to get around to it. We will water, weed, deadhead, and do minimal pruning, for flowers, veggies or potted plants. We will consult and design a plan for your garden, identify issues and solve problems. Practicing organic and biodynamic methods, we will restore your newly inherited gardens, encouraging planting pollinator flowers to attract the birds, butterflies and bees!
Pollinator Gardens:
A garden becomes even more magical when it is planted predominantly with pollinator-attracting flowers. Pollinator gardens are a great way to add interest and diversity to your home landscape, promoting biodiversity in nature. These gardens are designed to attract bees, butterflies, even hummingbirds. Creating a pollinator garden for your home can be a relatively simple task, requiring low maintenance and upkeep throughout the seasons and are beneficial to the habitat of numerous organisms, including many varieties of both native and European honey bees!
Fees:
A 1-hour consult is $150 and includes a typed up summary of recommendations.
Additional consult time to the first hour is $25 per quarter-hour.
We charge:
$50/hour for one of us; $70/hour for a team of two
Watering services only: $45-$50 (depending on amount)
Design fees are $70 an hour.
A minimum of one hour's work will be billed.
For our plant babysitting services we would need access to your home as well as a signed written document indicating that we have permission to enter your home to care for your plants exclusively.
